About

Hello everyone! I’m Andrew and have been working with the Language Centre at UAL for several years now. Mostly this has been teaching on the Summer Pre-sessional English courses, but I also welcomed the opportunity to work on some of the Intercultural Communications Training workshops some time ago.

My principal motivation for undertaking the PGCert, alongside the perhaps obvious ones of enhancing my skills and my knowledge and gaining a worthwhile qualification, is to become more embedded into the culture of the University: I believe this will greatly benefit my contribution to the fantastic students I work with.

Additional to my interests in linguistics and pedagogy, I enjoy music: presently this is more of an electronics project than a musical one as I’m still designing and building my ‘instrument’, but I’m hoping 2024 is the year when this changes. In recent months I’ve dabbled with some Artificial Intelligence tools (thanks to programmes run by UAL’s Teaching, Learning and Employability Exchange), and intend to see how what I’ve learnt can be utilised to aid my present studies.
